Chemical Peels are a popular, minimally invasive procedure that can improve a number of skin surface issues such as scarring, sun damage, rough patches of skin, hyper/hypopigmentation, wrinkles and fine lines, age spots, acne and acne scars. There are different types of Chemical Peels–the stronger the peel, the deeper it penetrates into the skin layers, and the lighter the peel, the more it stays on the outer surface. The lighter peels are obviously less invasive and require a shorter recovery period.
Our light peel actually doesn’t usually even cause any skin peeling. This is best for those looking for smoother skin with a healthier glow. The medium peel goes into the layers of skin and peels the cells from the outer layer and part of the middle layer of the skin. This peel would have a recovery time of about 3 to 4 days. Our deep chemical peel is the strongest peel and this peel penetrates all the way down to the lower layer of the skin. You can expect severe scabbing in the treated area and swelling that can last a couple of weeks with redness for as many as 3 months. Despite the long recovery time, the tradeoff is a complete rejuvenation of the epidermal layer of the skin and results that can last for up to 10 years.
