Expedited discharge, outpatient, same-day, fast-track, or ambulatory appendectomy in uncomplicated acute appendicitis: are they all the same?

I read with great interest the study entitled “Expedited discharge in uncomplicated acute appendicitis: decreasing the length of stay while maintaining quality” by Rochon et al., and I would like to congratulate the authors.1 This study is very well conducted, and demonstrated that expedited discharge after an uncomplicated laparoscopic appendectomy is safe and feasible without a negative impact on 30-day emergency department visit, imaging, or readmission.
