Sindh Assembly Session
KARACHI-The Sindh Injured Persons Compulsory Medical Treatment (Amal Umer) Bill, 2019 was introduced in the Provincial Assembly of Sindh.
The session of Assembly was presided over by the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker. Leaders of the House and Opposition, both attended the sitting.
As many as 78 lawmakers at outset and 27 lawmakers at adjournment were present. The parliamentary leaders of PPP, PTI, TLP, MQMP and MMAP were present. Whereas, 7 out of 9 minority lawmakers also attended the sitting.
The Minister for Health introduced the Sindh Injured Persons Compulsory Medical Treatment (Amal Umer) Bill, 2019, which was then referred by The House to a Select Committee.vb
Furthermore, the House adopted a resolution recommending Federal Government to reconsider its decision of shifting Pakistan International Airline’s Headquarter to Islamabad from Karachi.
Moved by a MMAP lawmaker, the House adopted a resolution recommending the Provincial Government to make a master plan for Lyari ’s Infrastructure.
The House also adopted a resolution recommending regularization of all villages and give ownership of the land to people living there.
The Minister for Irrigation responded to 4 out of 9 Starred Questions, while the lawmakers asked 24 supplementary questions. The Ministers for Local Government and Revenue responded to three Call Attention Notices (CANs) regarding ‘poor arrangements for cleanliness in PS-106’, ‘Accessibility of land record database to people’ and ‘Deplorable condition of Fire Brigade Karachi’.
An Adjournment Motion of PPP lawmaker regarding effects of poisonous water of Punjab’s industries on lands in Ghotki and Sukkur lapsed due to the absence of mover.
The House was adjourned till the next meeting.
